Thielen + would like to welcome our new Office Assistant Intern Megan Blotnick! Megan is a Senior at Florida State University studying International Affairs and Business.  She has recently taken a special interest in the financial and accounting aspects of business. 

Megan formerly has worked as an accounting intern for the Hospice of Palm Beach County.  This was more than a business internship.  Working for Hospice is one of the many ways Megan chooses to give back to the community and help those less fortunate.  Megan is also very involved in Meals on Wheels.  Megan said that most rewarding part about working with Meals on Wheels was the opportunity to help those who need it. She has a greater appreciation for all that she has in the life. 

Megan is also a sister of Alpha Gamma Delta.  She has been very involved in her collegiate membership serving as our Assistant Sisterhood Coordinator, Risk Management Coordinator, and Alumni Relations Coordinator. 

He favorite sports teams are the Boston Red Sox, New England Patriots, Boston Celtics, Boston Bruins, and , of course, the FSU SEMINOLES! She likes all kinds of music from Hip Hop to Country, Rock to Oldies.  Her other hobbies include traveling, reading, and boating.

Introducing the Thielen +  team! We work hard to provide our clients with the highest level of attention and detail to provide them with the best accounting and consulting services we possibly can.  But one thing most of our clients quickly learn is that we not your average CPA firm.  We have a culture all our own… I would describe it as the Tommy Bahama of CPA firms- high quality and high class with a laid back approach.  Our team is more than a team. We are a family! Our goal is to treat our clients with the same level of concern to make them feel as though they are a part of the Thielen + family too.  Let me introduce you to our family a little more…

Jim Thielen, CPA is the founder and partner of Thielen + with many years of accounting experience and business know-how.  Jim has a wife, Beth, and two sons, James Jr. and Patrick.  Those boys are his world! Jim is a graduate of The Florida State University and a huge Seminole Football fan!  Jim’s favorite musicians include Zac Brown Band, Jimmy Buffet, and The Eagles.  Jim loves golf, cigars, and guitars with family and friends anytime.  Being the youngest of 11 children, family is very important to his and he brings that to his firm and his relationships with clients and friends. 

Stam Stathis, CPA is our newest team member and a partner of Thielen +.  Stam’s credentials exceed him.  He is certified in a variety of areas including Information Technology, Financial Planning, Financial Forensics, and Valuation.  Stam has the business savvy to advise business owners on many different levels.  He is also very passionate about community involvement.  Stam has always been very involved as a Rotarian.  He even holds the honor of being named a Rotarian Paul Harris Fellow.  He is also very involved with his professional organizations as he was recently named President of the Florida Institute of CPA’s.  Stam is a graduate of University of Florida, but we don’t hold that against him. 

Jessica Sperling, CPA is our Tax Manager.  She is the go-to-gal for all of your tax needs.  Her favorite time of year is any time after October 15th.  Jessica is a graduate of University of Georgia.  She has a husband, Ben, a little boy, Jobe (Joe-Bee), and a beautiful baby girl, Sophie.  Jess is a Tallahassee native.  She loves to run- former cross country champion.  She also loves to garden and spend time with her kids playing at the beach.  Jessica is a sharp member of our team! Like any great mother, she is able to monitor and balance many different client projects at once to meet her deadlines.

Suzie Dubocq is our Project Accountant. Suzie has extensive training and experience using Microsoft Dynamics-NAV a software that provides a complete ERP for business.  Suzie has a new niece Sohpia Renee that was born pre-maturely weighing a little over 1lb.  Sohpia Renee is part of the reason why we support the March of Dimes.  Suzie and her husband, TJ, love to spend time outdoors camping, canoeing, and hiking.  Suzie also loves soccer and graduated from Florida International University with a degree in Sports Management. 

Lisa Rodriguez is our Office Manager and Bookkeeper.  This place would fall apart without her.  Lisa has been working with Jim since before he started his own practice.  Lisa has a husband, Kent, two sons, Michael and Joe, a daughter Katie, and a new Granddaughter Karsyn.  Lisa loves to spend time watching her husband and his band, playing with beautiful Karsyn, and swimming in her pool when the weather permits!

“Thielen plus! This is Sarah, how can I help you?”… sound familiar?  That is me! My name is Sarah Thielen. I am our student intern/head marketer.  I am also Jim’s niece! My dad is the oldest of those 11 children I mentioned earlier.  I have loved working at Thielen + more than any other job! I have learned a lot about business in general, the importance of having a strong relationship with your accountant, and the ins & outs of small business marketing. I am a senior at Florida State University getting a degree in Business Management and Advertising.  I love all kinds of music, especially classic folk rock.  I have a passion for learning about leadership and working with people.
